Third International Workshop within ASEAN-Russia joint project

The third workshop within the framework of the ASEAN-Russia project (ASEAN – Russia Dialogue Partnership) “Development of expert systems based on large-scale soil-geographic databases” was held May 13-14 in the capital of Myanmar Nay Pyi Taw. The participants were representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation (Republic of the Union of Myanmar) and the Land Development Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives (Kingdom of Thailand), as well as employees of the Faculty of Soil Science of Lomonosov Moscow State University (the Russian Federation).
The opening ceremony was attended by His Excellency Dr. Aung Thu — Union Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation of Myanmar. The national newspaper Myanma Alinn Daily dated May 14th published a report on the workshop, which outlined the prospects for cooperation between the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation of Myanmar and the Soil Data Centre of Lomonosov Moscow State University.
